Background


Dialog Axiata PLC, is Sri Lanka’s largest telecommunications service provider with the country’s largest mobile network. It is a direct subsidiary of the Axiata Group in Malaysia which operates some of the largest mobile telecommunication networks in Asia. The Axiata Group often uses Sri Lanka as a test bed for new ideas, piloting them via Dialog before a regional roll out. Dialog has been a recognized as a global trail blazer and won multiple awards for innovation in the mobile space.

Business challenge


Dialog pioneered a peer-to-peer mobile cash transfer system named eZ Cash aiming to disrupt the banking market in Sri Lanka. They had developed a backend and an Android mobile app but needed the support of an external vendor to develop the iOS version of the app in no time. A fast turn-round time, reliability and adherence to the highest security standards was expected.

Delivery


Calcey was chosen for the project and worked closely with the Dialog team to design and develop the iOS version of the app. Calcey also integrated the app with Dialog’s APIs required for authentication and financial transactions that formed the app’s core functionality.
