What you'll do

This is a hands-on role that will help us manage the networking infrastructure, hardware, software, and related operations. Other responsibilities include coordinating with service providers, carrying out routine and breakdown repairs, hardware procurement and maintenance, and making sure that everything is in place so that the software development teams can work efficiently and effectively. The chosen candidate will be entrusted with the following tasks.

  • Assist with network architecture design, clustered applications, and cloud application design
  • Contribute when defining company IT policies and follow up if the policies are adhered to at all times
  • Provide 24×7 support for issues related to the network availability and any issues related to the systems in operation 
  • Perform daily operational activities around monitoring and maintenance of production systems
  • Maintain the long life of hardware equipment by performing regular maintenance of the office hardware
  • Identify growth and scalability concerns and recommend a correct course of action
  • Work with internal teams to help address reliability and availability related issues
  • Set and maintain backup support for server and workstation infrastructure, installed systems, and any third party tools used at the office
  • Make sure all systems have adequate security procedures in place. Recommend in a timely manner about potential problems and take preventive actions
  • Research, install, and maintain new applications and systems
  • Coordinate with service providers, carry out routine and breakdown repairs, and maintain the overall office operational hardware to facilitate software development teams to work efficiently and effectively 
  • Maintain the office hardware inventory, assess the shortfalls, and make prompt purchases to replenish it in a timely manner
  • Position involves working on systems administrative tasks on multiple locations in Sri Lanka

We expect you to have

  • A strong desire for a career in systems administration
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar capacity in the IT industry
  • Knowledge of current trends in cloud computing and digital security vulnerabilities 
  • A passion for working with people and meticulously following up on tasks
  • A responsible and committed individual who takes pride in the end results
  • An out-of-the-box thinker with a strong “problem solving” ability
  • Any certifications related to networking and cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP) will be an added advantage
